Online Donations to DeKalb County Hospice

The mission of DeKalb County Hospice is to assist people to live with dignity and hope in ways that best meet their needs while coping with end of life issues. Hospice also supports grieving family and community members. Donations are an important source of revenue for bereavement services as well as care when clients are uninsured or when the cost of care exceeds the payment from insurance. Online donations to DeKalb County Hospice are provided through Kishwaukee Health Foundation via our secure server.

Nursing Development Fund

Initiated in 2003, the fund was created to provide funding to help underwrite the registration expenses for staff nurses for regional educational conferences, or for application fees for advanced certification programs in specialized clinical fields. Clinical Department annual budgets cannot cover these expenses.

Gifts to the Nursing Development Fund can be directed by the donor to the appropriate Kishwaukee Health System entity.

MUM: The Midge Underwood Memorial Golf Tournament

In 2007, the 10th Annual MUM Golf Outing raised $30,000 to benefit DeKalb County Hospice. Coordinating the Midge Underwood Memorial golf event each year are LPGA teaching professional Sandy Underwood and her sister, Mary Underwood Curran.

MUM is held in memory of their mother who introduced them to the sport of golf. A Hospice patient, Midge died of cancer in the spring of 1998.

In ten years, MUM has raised over $190,000 to benefit Hospice! The 2008 event is scheduled for August 15th. Watch this website, the Hospice website, and the papers for more information on the Tournament!
